The Numerical Aerodynamic Systems Division at NASAâ s Ames Research Center maintains this site as an update to the NAS Parallel Benchmarks, a set of benchmarks for the performance evaluation of parallel supercomputers. The principal distinguishing feature of these benchmarks is their "pencil and paper" specification, and all details of these benchmarks are specified algorithmically, avoiding many of the difficulties associated with conventional benchmarking approaches on parallel systems.

This work promises to add greatly to our understanding of the oceans through coordinated use of information gathered in space. John Glenn, the first American to orbit the Earth, became the world's oldest astronaut when he returned to the stars yesterday, 36 years after his first flight on the nation's 123rd manned mission. The University of Florida has made this directory, a subset of its National Agricultural Safety Database CD-ROM, available on the web. The Directory "contains contact information on over 1500 ag safety professionals and organizations throughout the US," and can be browsed by organization (alphabetically or by state), or by individual (by name, agency, or state). Although the creators of the database have gone to great lengths to provide a comprehensive resource in many browsable formats, lack of a search interface keeps this site from being even more useful.
National Agricultural Library's (NAL) Integrated System for Information Services (ISIS) online public access catalog is available for searching through telnet. ISIS is a computerized catalog containing the most current bibliographic citations for books, reports, maps, journals/periodicals, audiovisuals, CD-ROMs, software, and other materials added to NAL collections since 1966. ISIS also contains AGRICOLA journal article citations from 1989 onward. The catalog can be searched 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Eastern Time, Monday through Saturday.
